Remember
the
first time you heard The Ramones and suddenly 60% of your
albums became obsolete? Prepare yourself for a similar traverse
with THE STUBBLES. By any stretch of the imagination, THE
STUBBLES are not a casual listen; the group sing songs about
-- amongst other things -- sticking their dicks in retarded
chicks, a midget with a six foot penis, and the pure joy of
an eager dick in a warm inviting pussy. Formed in 1989 in
the back of a Chevy cargo van, THE STUBBLES had a 3-year playing
frenzy under the apt name BARNEY RUBBLE AND THE CUNT STUBBLE;
with the release of their first album "Soap Sud Enema"
[Flexible Manikin / Mutha 1991] the band achieved national
and international acclaim in the comedy rock genre,
and perform as an opener to scores of major touring acts.
Over-consumption, lawsuits and a tumultuous band breakup followed.
But their infamous popularity and legendary sound lingered
on. A few rehabs later -- and armed with an arsenal of new
songs -- the band has reemerged to resume Rock n' Roll warfare.
In
the early 90s, THE STUBBLES were synonymous with offensive,
obnoxious, and stormy behavior. Some called it "porn-rock."
Others compared it to the likes of GG Allen, The New York Dolls,
Dice Clay, The Sex Pistols and GWAR. Aside from streamlining
their name to avoid further conflict with the good folks at
Hanna-Barbara, Inc. (creators of The Flintstones), nothing has
changed. Some will still accuse the band of desecrating the
very art of Rock n' Roll; but hey -- what is art anyway?
The
year is 2007 -- nearly 15 years after their first release; THE
STUBBLES have enough material for a second album. But the band
declares, "We ain't releasing any of this shit until
a major label pulls out a wade of cash. Fans are different.
We don't care if they bring tape recorders and video cameras
to shows and record it themselves. That's the way it's supposed
to be anyway. Just us and the fans." Fans of the band
can currently listen to the entire Soap Sud Enema CD for free
on the Internet at www.thestubbles.com.
THE
STUBBLES are currently in write/record-mode at an undisclosed
studio, and have rolled out locally.
A worldwide tour will follow. As Doc Stubble puts it, "I
ain't ever been to Japan. I hear they really dig heartfelt American
Rock n' Roll over there. I can't wait to get my dick in some
of those hot Asian chicks." -- Sonny Trust
